My blog today is about encrypting the contents of a USB memory drive. Encryption is the process of transforming information to make it unreadable.
USB memory drives can get lost easily. What happens with all the important data you store on them? This can be personal documents or sensitive information. Encryption is essential to enable the contents to be accessible by you alone.
TrueCrypt is free and can be stored and run on your USB drive. To access TrueCrypt go to www.trucrypt.org By using truecrypt your files will be secure.

My blog today is going to focus on HTML. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language.

HTML is a language, which enables information to be presented on the Internet. When you view a web page on the Internet, it your browsers interpretation of HTML. To see HTML code in your browser, Click the View Menu and select Source with your left mouse button.
My next blog will focus on some HTML commands.

Berenblut IT Training Website Terminology continued
META TAGS
Following on from my previous blog. This blog is going to focus on Meta Tags.
I am often asked What Meta Tags are. These are a special HTML(Hypertext Markup Language) tag that provides information about a Web page.
Meta Tags do not affect how a Web page is displayed. They provide information such as who created the page, how often it is updated, what the page is about, and which keywords represent the page's content.
In tomorrow's blog, I will explain some HTML terminology.
Best wishes

Berenblut IT Training Website Terminology explained
Today the blog is going to focus on some website terminology. As a trainer I am often asked what the terms mean, today I am going to share four definitions with you.
HTML - Hyper Text Markup Language
Hyper Text Markup Language is the markup language for webpages. HTML consists of tags which are surrounded by angled brackets eg within web page content. The tags usually come in pairs eg italic the first tag is the opening tag, the second tag is the closing tag
SEO - Search Engine Optimisation
Search Engine Optimisation is the process of improving visibility of a website or a web page in search engines.
PPC - Pay Per Click
Pay Per Click is internet advertising, advertisers pay the site that is hosting when their advertisment is clicked.
CPC - Cost Per Click
Cost Per Click is the sum paid by an advertiser to search engines for a single click on their advertisement.
I hope that you have found these definitions helpful. Tomorrow I am going to continue with some further website terminology.
Best wishes

London Women Mean Business Monthly Meetup - 14 October
Hello Ladies,
It's that time again already. It seems to have come around so quickly this month as we moved the September meeting to later in the month due to the tube strike. Fingers crossed that won't be happening again! It's great to have heard from so many new people interested in coming along to try out one of our meetings. We think you'll find us a very friendly and welcoming group, always willing to help and support each other in growing our businesses. Details of our next meeting, which will take place on Thursday 14th October, are as follows:
VENUE The Embassy Club, 29 Old Burlington Street, London, W1S 3AN TIME 6 - 8.30pm COST Free, guests just pay for their own drinks/food NEAREST TUBE Green Park or Piccadilly Circus CAR PARKING Car park on Old Burlington Street, or free street parking after 6.30pm MAP http://bit.ly/9QwR3C
Our speaker will be the amazing Kathy Ennis from Envision Training who will be talking to us about Personal Branding. Kathy is a really engaging and entertaining speaker so please do make sure you arrive on time to hear her and pick up some great tips. She will begin at 7pm. Our regular guests may have noted that we will be finishing slightly earlier next week - all the more reason to arrive on time so that you can make the most of the networking opportunities before the speaking begins. If you know any other women in business that would find this event of interest, please do forward on this email. And if you plan to attend please send us a quick RSVP to londonwmb@googlemail.com As we circulate a guest list, it's helpful if you could provide the company name you wish to be listed under in addition to either a website and/or an email address if you would like these included. We look forward to seeing you . Best wishes, Melanie & Dawn
